First of all Virgin Megastore was sold off to Zavvi and shortly afterwards they had a liquidation sale and went under. Now Director’s Cut are in there and it’s a depressing store. There’s no piped music to liven the dead atmosphere, oh dear!

awful store, there is no logical layout whatsoever. I asked one of the staff members how it was laid out “according to price he said” ….hmmm ya that makes lots of sense. To be honest I thought the music was way too loud in there. Staff were rude and unhelpful, rubbish dvd collection … foreign section okay but what a rip off. I went in looking for 3 dvds they had none of the ones i wanted. left and went to HMV were I was actually able to get them.
hey there.. it has a horrible warehouse feel to it doesnt it?? cold and uninviting. STaff are absolute morons and the management lead by example!! waiting 3 months on a dvd i ordered from the muppets. i actually know a member of staff an he informed me the boss was a young girl, 25 or so!! no suprise there with nothin but young geeky boys workin in the shop!(wheres equal opportunity rights??)i was also shocked to hear they are all on min wage, no overtime, no sunday pay and no matter how long your shift (example 9-5) staff are only entitled to a half and hour break?>?? i feel there are many laws being broken in there..
there are director cut video rental/retail shops to, the one closest to me being the lough. Its shabby and worn down, horrible looking. Staff are great , especially the weekend staff but the place is a tip. staff dont even have a seat or proper heating!! on top of that every rental dvd they have has a big sign plastered across it saying NOT FOR RESALE OR RENTAL.. so how many laws are they breaking eh???
i find the whole organisation to be a bit of a farce. i feel sorry for any staff employed with them i really do…
