31 - I’m Still Standing
It’s wonderful how some of the old buildings in Cork are preserved while all around them their neighbours are demolished and shiny new edifices rise. This one is of course on Emmett Place.
30 - Bubbling Water
Water flows down to the beach at Fountainstown, bubbling as it goes over rocks and seaweed.
PS. I’ve reduced the cost of all prints by about $50 to $80 for the largest size framed prints. Most of the cost goes towards manufacturing and my markup is only 20% on all prints. Check ‘em out in my gallery and of course if a photo on the site takes your interest contact me and let me know!
29 - Easy way up
The easy way up to the Montmorency Falls is by cable car direct from the visitor center. We took the steps. Legs. Sore. (Great coming down though!)
28 - Red Red Rose
Red roses in my father-in-law’s garden, I think. This was shot way back in August but I’m fairly sure of the location.

Montmorency Falls in Quebec, as seen from the top of the nearby hill. Lots of steps to walk up!

You may be aware of the diminishing population of wildlife in the Lough over the past few months. I am part of a voluntary organisation called JCI Cork (junior chamber international) and as a group we have decided to fundraise for the Lough by holding a table quiz in the Hawthorn Bar near the Lough. Email them at cork @jci-ireland.org (remove the space before the @) if you’re interested in going. A table of 4 costs 40 Euro. I don’t think I’ll be going (baby sitters, etc to organise) but it should be a good night!
26 - Wet suits
Wet suits lie out in the sun to dry near Fountainstown Beach, County Cork.
25 - A whale of a time in Quebec
A street in Quebec is filled with drawings and messages hanging down from wires above our heads.
Made me think of the “Fail Whale” when I saw this one. Sad.
24 - A Vendre
Firewood for sale on the roadside near where we stayed in Quebec.
23 - Cross in the Roof
Another (and final) shot of the roof in the Sanctuaire de Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré in Quebec, Canada. I will post more from this church but this is the final shot of the main roof. Love the intricate design.
22 - Look up at the roof
The ceiling of the Sanctuaire de Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré in Quebec is quite a sight. In a low light situation you can’t get a more stable support than the floor at your feet, lucky me.
A wide angle lens meant I had to run for cover lest the camera capture me in the image. The 2 second timer was very convenient for this purpose.
