Long Legged Bird

God help anyone who finds this picture through Google. I wonder what they were really looking for!
Matt, any idea what kind of bird this is?
Pictured in the aviary at Chicago’s Lincoln Park Zoo.

In other news, I received an email from GE Health. My photo of a skateboarder is on their website and will be displayed in Times Square in April!

Donncha, you’ve got me here. I may have to go to Chicago to find out what it is.

We have a winner! JS is correct. It’s a Sunbittern (one word).

I found this through google! I was looking for a clue to a crossword puzzle _RA___. I was amused by the comment on your picture about people searching through Google. :-)

I found this on Google, too. I was trying to identify a bird that a friend photographed–that has long legs. I wondered what you might have thought anyone who did find it through Google might have been looking for.

I found this through google – I’m trying to find the answer to a quiz question regarding childhood games and activities. The clue is:
    ‘Long legged type of birds’
For example ‘Tuneful seats’ is musical chairs.
    I’ll carry on my search…

I found this picture looking up “birds oregon long legs” after observing a bird-couple in our bark mulch out front for the past few hours. I think they are laying eggs in the bark mulch!
